Laccha Paratha

Ingredients

Wheat flour/ atta - 250 grams
Salt/ namak as per taste
Jeera/ cumin seeds or ajwain/ carom seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Red chilli/ mirchi powder as preferred
Coriander leaves/ dhaniya - 3-4 tablespoons
Oil or ghee for sautéing and greasing
Water/ pani as required for making dough

Instructions

Knead wheat flour with jeera, ajwain and salt.
Divide the dough into equal portions. Roll out normal chapati.
Smear the chapati with oil. Add red chili powder on chapati.
Add coriander leaves all over. Dust it with some wheat flour also.
Cut the chapati vertically into broad strips.
Again cut chapati horizontally so that we get pieces of chapati.
Take a piece of roti and stack the rest of the pieces on one another. Place the last piece of roti in such a way that masala is inside. Press gently and roll out chapati again.
Cook on a heated tava applying ghee evenly.
When cooked, place the paratha on a flat surface and with both hands press inside so that the layers open up.
Delicious 'Laccha/Layered Paratha' is ready now. Serve with potato curry or curd.
