As we all are eagerly waiting to Welcome Lord Ganesha in our house and everywhere preparations to welcome Ganpati Bappa are in full zeal. Everybody is preparing all his favorite dishes to offer as bhog. In Rajasthan we offer our special delicacy “Laapsi” to Lord Ganpati as Bhog. !!Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!!

Ingredients

  • Broken Wheat( Mota Dalia) – 1 cup (8’oz)
  • Clarified Butter (Ghee) – 1/3 Cup (2⅔’oz)
  • Jaggery (Gud) Powder -3/4 Cup (7’oz)
  • Cocunut – Finely Chopped – ¼ Cup( 2’oz)
  • Almonds and Cashewnuts – Finely Chopped - ¼ cup(2’oz)
  • Cardamom Powder – ½ tea spoon
  • Saffron (soaked in milk) – 1 tea spoon
  • Water – ½ Cup (4’oz)

Instructions

  1. Heat Pressure cooker and pour ghee in it.Add Dalia in it and sauté till it is light pink in colour.
  2. Pour water in it and put lid on the pressure cooker and wait till you hear 2 whistles.
  3. Switch off the gas and wait till pressure is released. Add powdered jaggery in warm dalia and mix well and put the lid back on cooker.
  4. Heat a Pan on gas and put the closed Pressure cooker on it and let the Pan heat on low flame for 3-4 minutes so that the jaggery is melted inside cooker.
  5. After this add finely chopped coconut, Cardomom powder and saffron to dalia and again put the lid on for 15 minutes so that flavour is absorbed. Add some melted ghee before serving to add flavour.
  6. Serve it as Bhog to Lord Ganpati and seek His Blessings.
