Ice Cream Cake : A Rich Double layered Cake!

Surprise everyone in your family by baking a rich ice cream cake like this one. This recipe is simple and the cake can be called as a cake with a twist as it has alternate layers of vanilla cake and chocolate cake. What more can we ask for in a cake , right ? 🙂

Ingredients

  • Vanilla Cake
  • Vanilla essence : 1 teaspoon
  • All purpose flour : 1 1/2 cups
  • Sugar : 1 cup
  • Baking powder : 1 teaspoon
  • A pinch of salt
  • Hot water : 1cup
  • Vinegar : 1 tablespoon
  • Oil : 5 tablespoon
  • Chocolate cake
  • Cocoa powder : 2 tablespoon
  • All purpose flour : 1 1/2 cups
  • Sugar : 1 cup
  • Baking powder : 1 teaspoon
  • A pinch salt
  • Milk : 3/4 cup
  • Oil- 5 tablespoon
  • Mango Ice cream or any flavour you like
  • Coconut powder : 2 tablespoon
  • Chocolate balls : 8-10
  • Vemicillies chocolate sprinkles : 2tablespoon

Instructions

  1. For vanilla cake , sieve the dry ingredients in a bowl. Then mix wet ingredients and beat it for 4-5 minutes
  2. Do the same thing for Chocolate cake!
  3. Now, both the batter is ready. Take a cake tin and brush it with oil.
  4. Pour one layer of chocolate cake batter and over that one layer of vanilla cake batter. You can put 2-3 layers alternately.
  5. Place in the preheated (180 °) oven and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  6. The cake is done when you see brown color on the top (Take the cake out , prick with a toothpick, if the toothpick comes out clean then the cake is baked properly)
  7. Cool it on a rack for 10 minutes and then transfer to a plate. Freeze for 2 hours and take it out.
  8. Divide into two parts horizontally by using a large sized knife then spread one layer of mango ice cream place the second half on it then again spread mango ice cream layer.
  9. Sprinkle coconut powder and vermicelli chocolate sprinkles and decorate with chocolate balls.
  10. Keep in the freezer for one hour for it to set. Tip : Put ice cream on cold cake otherwise ice cream will melt.
  11. Awesome Ice cream Cake is ready !! Attack :-)
