Gupchup Chaat is a delicious chaat recipe , perfect with a cup of hot tea.

Gupchup Chaat is made with potato mixture stuffed with sev and served with different types of chutney. It is my mom’s recipe. She has named it as Gupchup because the stuffing inside is sev, which like a surprise element and unique. Perfect food for chaat lovers. All family will enjoy this tangy, spicy and sweet dish. Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 4 boiled and mashed
  • Green chilli and ginger paste - 2 Tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice - 1 Teaspoon
  • Cornflour - 1 Tablespoon
  • FOR STUFFING :
  • Sev - 1/2 Cup
  • Chat masala - 1/4 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • FOR SERVING :
  • Dahi - 1/2 Cup whisked
  • Khajoor chutney - 1/2 Cup
  • Green chutney - 1/2 Cup
  • Coriander leaves chopped - 1 Tablespoon (for garnishing)
  • Cumin/Jeera powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder - 1 Teaspoon
  • Oil - 1/2 Cup for roasting

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl add mashed potatoes, green chilli paste, salt, corn flour and lemon juice. Mix well.
  2. Make balls out of it and flatten a bit.
  3. Mix ingredients for stuffing in another bowl.
  4. Make a well in potato mixture and fill the stuffing. Close the ends and roll with your palm.
  5. Make a ball and flatten it.
  6. In a non-stick pan, roast the pattice by adding oil.
  7. Roast it on both sides till it turns golden brown. Let it cool down.
  8. Arrange in a plate and top it with khajoor chutney, green chutney, jeera powder, red chilli powder and coriander leaves. Your "Gupchup Chaat " is ready to be served.
