Coriander Coconut Chutney is a famous South Indian chutney.

This recipe is done by Mother-In-Law and Daughter-In-Law duo, Amruthavalli Chakravarthy and Archana Chakravarthy from Banglore.

Coriander Coconut Chutney is a yummy and delicious chutney and can be made within 5 minutes. It is very healthy with the goodness of coconut, roasted bengal gram, coriander, tamarind. It can be served with dosa or idli or vada or any combination. It tastes delicious in all the form.

Serve this chutney with Millet Dosa or Rava Idli – Instant Breakfast.

Ingredients

  • CORIANDER COCONUT CHUTNEY:-
  • Chopped Fresh Coconut - 1/2 Cup
  • Roasted Bengal Gram/Daaliya - 1 Cup
  • Tamarind - 10 Gram or Amla sized
  • Green chilli - 2 to 3 or as per taste
  • Coriander leaves - a handful chopped
  • Salt - as per taste
  • Sugar - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Water - as required
  • TADKA FOR CHUTNEY:-
  • Oil - 1 Tablespoon
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Cumin/Jeera - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Heeng/Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. PREPARATION OF CORIANDER COCONUT CHUTNEY:-Take a grinder jar and add daaliya, green chilli, imli/tamarind, chopped coriander, salt, sugar, little water. Grind it to a smooth paste.
  2. Now, add chopped coconut to the grinder jar. Again grind it to a smooth paste by adding little water at a time.
  3. Once done transfer to a bowl.
  4. PREPARING TADKA:-Take a tadka pan, add oil and heat it.
  5. Add mustard seeds, jeera/cumin. Let it splutter. Then add heeng, curry leaves. Let it splutter.
  6. Add turmeric powder then switch off the gas. Immediately pour the tadka on chutney and mix well. Chutney is ready.
  7. Yummy 'Coriander Coconut Chutney' is ready to be served with dosa or idli.
