Bread Uttapam – Instant Recipe a delicious and quick breakfast for busy mornings.

Bread Uttapam – Instant Recipe is a yummy and healthy breakfast option for your family. This uses whole wheat bread, curd, some veggies and spices. My daughter got up late today in the morning..so she said with morning tea, mom please make some tasty instant breakfast too. So this got me thinking and I came up with the idea of quick and healthy Uttapam. This tastes yummy and can be made so quickly. Uttapam a very popular South Indian dish is given a twist and is prepared with bread and veggies. Instant and easy to make, this recipe is surely going to be a hit in your family. So, try it out soon and let us know your feedback.

  • Any one of either brown bread, white bread or multigrain bread can be used.
  • Available veggies of choice are optional.

Ingredients

  • Whole wheat bread - 3 to 4 slices
  • Sooji/Semolina - 1/2 cup
  • Fresh dahi/curd - 1/2 cup
  • Tricolour capsicum/Shimla Mirch - 2 to 3 Tablespoon
  • Gajar/Carrot - 1 small sized, grated
  • Pyaz/Onion - 1 small sized, finely chopped
  • Tamatar/Tomato - 1 small sized, finely chopped
  • Hari Mirch/Green chili - 1, finely chopped
  • Adrak/Ginger - a 1/2 inch pieces grated
  • Coriander Leaves - a handful chopped
  • Red Chili Powder/Lal Mirch Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon or to taste
  • Chaat Masala - to taste
  • Vegetable Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste

Instructions

  1. Crush the bread using a grinder.
  2. Mix crushed bread, sooji/semolina, curd , water, chopped vegetables, coriander leaves and all the dry masalas mentioned above to make the batter. Mix the batter well and add water to make it semi solid.
  3. Heat a pan and grease it well with oil. Spread the batter slowly on the pan in a small circular shape.
  4. Heat both the sides for 5 to 7 minutes on a medium flame. Bread Uttapam is ready!!
  5. Serve instant bread uttapam hot with garma garam chai and green chutney. Enjoy!!!!
