Bedmi Poori with Aloo Sabji
Ingredients
- BEDMI POORI : Whole Wheat Flour - 2 bowl
- Carom seeds (Ajwain) - 1/2 teaspoon
- Urad Dal (split black gram)/Moong dal(green gram) - 1/2 bowl
- Chopped coriander leaves, green chilli and ginger - 1 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Asafoetida/hing - A pinch
- Garam masala - 1/4 teaspoon
- Crushed whole coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - as per taste
- ALOO /POTATO KI SABJI : Boiled potatoes - 4
- Chopped tomato - 1 bowl
- Grated Ginger - 1 piece
- Chopped Green Chilli - 1
- Coriander leaves - 1 small bunch
- Whole red chilli - 3
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumins Seed - 1/2 teaspoon
- Asafoetida/hing - A pinch
- Garam Masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Kasoori methi / dried fenugreek leaves - 1 teaspoon
- Salt as per taste
- Water
Instructions
- FOR BEDMI POORI : Soak the dals in water for 4-5 hours then sieve it and grind in a mixer for 2-3 minutes to make it coarse. Then mix the chopped coriander leaves, green chilli and ginger, salt, chilli powder, asafoetida, garam masala and crushed whole coriander to it.
- Mix the whole wheat flour and the spices above and make a dough out of it.
- Take small equal sized round dough balls, roll and flatten them like a poori.
- Take the dal mixture in a spoon and spread on the one side of poori.
- Heat oil on high flame to deep the fry poories. Fry the poories keeping the masala side up. when one side is cooked then flip the other side. When cooked properly on both sides then take out on a plate.
- FOR ALOO KI SABJI : Cut the boiled potatoes into small pieces.
- Take a pan. Heat it and add 2 teaspoon of oil and add asafoetida, whole red chilli and chopped tomato and saute properly for 5-7 minutes.
- Add all the spices, other ingredients except the kasoori methi and saute again.
- Add one bowl of water and boil it properly. Add the cut potato pieces and cook it for 5-7 minutes. Turn off gas and add kasoori methi leaves.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Tasty and mouth watering bedmi poori and aloo ki sabji is ready.
