Aalu Gobhi – Flavorsome And Healthy Curry
Ingredients
- Cauliflower/ phool gobhi - 1 (cut into medium size pieces)
- Potatoes/ alu - 4 (medium size, cut into medium size)
- Tomatoes/ tamatar - 4 (medium size, chopped)
- Onions/ pyaz - 2 (medium size, chopped)
- Green chillies/ hari mirch - 2 (finely chopped)
- Ginger/ adarak - 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)
- Garlic/ lehsun - 1 tablespoon (finely chopped)
- Cumin seeds/ jeera - 1 tablespoon
- Coriander/ dhaniya powder - 1 tablespoon
- Garam masala - 1 teaspoon (ciba taaza masala is used in this curry)
- Asafoetida/ heeng - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric/ haldi powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chilli/ lal mirch powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt/ namak - as per taste
- Mustard oil/ tel - 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan and add asafoetida and cumin seeds to it.
- Add onions and green chillies and saute for a minute.
- Add ginger and garlic and saute till the mixture turns light brown.
- Add all the spices and salt and mix well.
- Add potatoes and cauliflower and saute for a couple of minutes.
- Cover the pan for 10 minutes on medium flame and cook. Now add tomatoes and mix well.
- Again cover the pan for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes switch off the gas stove.
- Delicious and quick 'Aalu Gobhi' curry is ready to be servd with hot phulkas!
