Next in our series, we bring you some easy, homemade facial masks to make your skin look healthy and glowing. These natural and homemade face packs not only remove dead skin and unclog the pores, but also increase blood circulation, leaving skin fresh and radiant. Regular use may also help in controlling fine lines, wrinkles and other signs of aging.

How to make a Face Mask

Making a face pack is very simple. Here are few quick and easy recipes for our own masks:

For oily/acne skin:

Strawberry yogurt and honey face mask recipe

  • Strawberry – ¼ cup
  • Yogurt – 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice – 2 tablespoon
  • Honey – 1 tablespoon

Mash all the ingredients together to form a thick paste. Yogurt and honey has antibacterial properties and also tends to cool skin. Lemon helps tighten the pores. Strawberries are great for acne prone skin and you can use the left over mask as your breakfast smoothie!!

For normal skin:

Honey and banana face mask recipe

  • Ripe banana – 1
  • Honey – 2 teaspoon

Mash the banana using a fork (or your fingers!) to get a thick cream like consistency. Add honey and mix well. This banana face pack will leave your skin glowing.

For dry skin:

Avocado and honey face mask recipe

  • Avocado (very ripe) – ½
  • Honey – 2 tablespoon
  • Coconut oil – ½ tablespoon

Mash avocado till it gets smooth consistency. Mix in honey and coconut oil and your mask is ready. Honey has healing properties and avocado and coconut oil add moisture to your dry skin leaving it radiant and hydrated.

For aging/mature skin:

Apple cider vinegar face mask recipe

  • Apple – 1
  • Apple cider vinegar – 1 tablespoon
  • Cornflour -1 teaspoon

Grate the unpeeled apple and stir in apple cider vinegar and cornflour. Mix to form a thick paste. This mask works great as wrinkle-defying mask.

How to use a face mask

  • Clean the skin properly with cleanser. Apply face pack on freshly cleaned skin leaving the areas around eyes.
  • Leave the mask for at least 15-20 mins to do its job. Relax during that time.
  • Wash your face with warm water or wipe it with a damp towel.
  • Always apply moisturizing cream or gel after that.

So, next time when you can’t find time to pamper yourself or don’t want to splurge on the expensive spa products, just turn to your kitchen. These simple and effective homemade face mask recipes will leave your skin fresh, bright and younger looking in no time.
