When it comes to planning a menu, the menu should be simple and the food should be balanced, healthy and delicious. We should also take care of the guests’ ages and check if they have any dietary restrictions.
Breakfast–a very important and the first meal of the day. Create an attractive platter of fruits, yogurt and juices. Also keep milk, bread, biscuits, cereal, coffee and tea handy , so that everyone can enjoy the breakfast.
You can go for Fresh Orange juice or chikoo shake is also a good option for a healthy and filling breakfast. Make besan bread toast in breakfast if you have kids along with your guests. It is healthy, instant and yummy.
Healthy Chaats and salads must rule your morning snack platter. Boiled chana chaat is personally my favorite morning snack. Rainbow salad is an attractive mix of veggies which is not only healthy but also appeal to the kids because of the beautiful colors present in it. Sprout Salad is also a very good option for morning snack. It is healthy, full of proteins and generally liked by all age groups. Lemony sprouts chaat and kulia fruit chaat are the other easy and healthy options you can opt for.
Lunches and dinners are the important meals of the day. A simple menu include- rice, chapati, lentil, vegetable dish, chutney and curd/yogurt. A meal can be finished with simple dessert that you can prepare beforehand. You can also serve a simple salad- sliced tomatoes and cucumber sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Vegetable dishes may include corn palak gravy, Lauki Kofte, Mixed Vegetable stir fry, Aloo gobhi , soya granules bhurji or tofu corn makhana gravy. Rajma curry, Chana dal palak curry, Amritsari dal tadka, Dal Makhani are some of the lentils recipes that you can choose from your lunch or dinner. You can go for plain chapati or kulcha or crispy tandoori naan. Though jeera rice go with any combination of the vegetable and lentils, you can also try Veg fried rice or Vegetable biryani.
Onion Pakoras served with Masala Chai is an ideal snack for those who are fond of fried snacks. Veg Vermiceilli or creamy sandwiches comes to rescue when you have guests who prefer healthy snacks. If you are interested in baking, try this simple chocolate cake or oats butter cookies, to be enjoyed with evening tea.
If you have kids along with your guests, keep some milk packets handy as many kids are used to drink milk either before going to bed or early in the morning.
This coffee cappuccino comes to rescue when you have some serious coffee lovers in the group who cannot stay late at night without strong coffee.
