Phool Makhane Ki Kheer

Ingredients

Phool Makhanas/fox nuts - 1 Cup
Ghee/clarified butter - 1 Teaspoon
Full cream milk - 1 Litre
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Mixed nuts (cashews, almonds and pistachios) - 1 Cup

Instructions

Heat 1 teaspoon ghee in a pan. Add phool makhanas and roast them well.
Take them out in a pan and cool.
Boil milk in a thick bottomed pan. Keep the flame on low.
Keep 1/3 of makhanas aside and grind the rest of them to powder.
Add the ground makhana powder to the boiling milk. Keep stirring.
Add the nuts to a grinder and grind well to powder.
Add sugar to milk and cook on a low flame. Cook for around 20 minutes till it gets thick.
Add the remaining makhanas and the powdered nuts to it. Mix well. Switch off the gas.
Yummy 'Phool Makhane Ki Kheer' is ready to be served. Serve hot or chilled.
