Ingredients

  • Soaked moong dal - 250g
  • Chopped onion- 2-3 pieces
  • Tomato puree -1 bowl
  • Green chilli - 3 pieces
  • Garlic ginger paste- 1 tsp
  • Water as required
  • Spices-Bay leaves- 2-3, asafeotida- 2 pinch, garam masala-1 tsp, cardamom-2, coriander powder-1 tsp, turmeric powder-1/2 tsp, degi mirch-1/2 tsp, cumin seeds-1/2 tsp, clove-3-4, kasoori methi-2 tsp and salt according to taste
  • Oil for frying and tadka

Instructions

  1. Grind the soaked dal in mixer grinder with chili, kasoori methi and little bit salt to make thick paste.
  2. Make the balls from thick paste and deep fry them and keep separately.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan, add asafetida, bay leaves, crushed cloves , cardamom, ginger garlic paste one by one. Then add chopped onion and saute for 1-2 minutes.Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, degi chili , salt and tomato puree . Saute it for 2-3 min and mix well. When gravy starts to leave oil on its side, add water and adjust its consistency. Now give 3-4 boils/
  4. Now add Koftas and garam masala. Mix well. After 5 minutes, switch off the gas.
  5. Your healthy Moong dal Kofta is ready to serve with hot chapati!
