Ingredients

Whole wheat flour - 1 1/4 cup
Butter - 100 gm or 1/2 cup
Baking soda 1 teaspoon
Cocoa Powder - 1/4 cup
Salt - a pinch
Milk - 1 cup
Chopped chocolate - 2 tablespoons
Instant coffee powder - 1/2 tablespoon
Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon
Sugar - 1 cup

Instructions

Sieve together the dry ingredients - whole wheat flour, salt, baking soda, instant coffee powder and cocoa powder. Sieve this flour mixture twice.
In a large bowl, add softened butter, powdered sugar and beat it into a smooth mixture.
Add vanilla essence and milk to butter-sugar mixture and mix well.
Add chopped chocolate to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well.
Add the sieved flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture and fold the batter. Cake batter is ready.
Preheat the oven to 200 degree centigrade.
Meanwhile coat a cake tin with butter and dust it with flour.
Add the cake batter to the cake tin and once the oven has reached the temperature, transfer the cake tin into the oven.
Bake the cake at 170 degrees centigrade for about 40-45 minutes. Whole wheat eggless chocolate cake is ready to be served once it cools down a bit after baking.
