Wheat Pasta In Red and White Sauce
Ingredients
- Wheat pasta : 2 cups
- FOR RED SAUCE
- Tomatoes : 2
- Onions : 2
- Garlic : 6 cloves
- Olive oil : 1 tablespoon
- Mixed herbs : 2 teaspoon
- Tomato puree : 1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Pepper powder : 1 teaspoon
- FOR WHITE SAUCE
- Butter : 1 tablespoon
- Maida : 1 tablespoon
- Milk : 1 1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Pepper : 1 teaspoon
- OTHER INGREDIENTS FOR PASTA
- Broccoli coarsely chopped : 1/2 cup
- Tri color bell pepper : 3/4 cup diced
- Baby corns : 3 chopped
- Zucchini : 1/4 cup diced
- Salt to taste
- Mixed herbs : 1/2 tablespoon
- Chilli flakes : 2 teaspoon
- Cheese : 1/2 grated
- Olive oil : 2 tablespoon
Instructions
- In heavy bottom pan add water to boil and salt .
- Add the wheat pasta to it. Cook till it is almost cooked (not fully cooked).
- Drain out the excess water by straining it and place under running water.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon oil to it and keep it aside.
- METHOD FOR RED SAUCE
- Grind the tomatoes, onions and garlic in a mixer and make a paste.
- In a pan add 1 tablespoon olive oil and add the paste to it.
- Cook it till it the mixture becomes thick.
- Add the tomato puree, salt, herbs, pepper powder and keep it aside.
- METHOD FOR WHITE SAUCE
- In a pan add butter, maida (all purpose flour) and whisk continuously so that no lumps are formed.
- Stir it for 2 minutes.
- Add milk and stir continuously. Cook till it becomes thick.
- Add salt and pepper and set it aside.
- In a pan stir fry zucchini,bell peppers, baby corn and broccoli on high flame for 2 minutes.
- Add the red sauce and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add white sauce and again cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the wheat pasta and cook for 2 more minutes.
- Sprinkle salt, pepper, herbs and chilli flakes.
- Grate cheese generously on top of the pasta.
- Enjoy the crunchy and healthy 'Wheat pasta in white and red sauce' .
