Sweet Rice/ Zarda Pulav

Ingredients

Rice - 1/2 Cup (wash and soaked in water for about 20 minutes)
Sugar - 1/2 Cup
Ghee - 2-3 tbsp
Clove - 1
Cardamom - 1
Chopped Dry Fruits - Almonds/ Cashews/ Raisins/ Pistas - 6-7
Kesar - 5 Strands disolved in Water for about 10 minutes
Water - 1 Cup
Coconut Powder for garnishing the dish ( Optional )
Turmeric Powder - A pinch

Instructions

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add turmeric, clove and cardamom to it.
After few seconds, add Soaked Rice, and mix it well. Saute the rice for another 5-10 seconds on medium flame.
Now add Sugar, Kesar and Water to the Cooker. Mix it well.
Cover the lid of the Cooker, and Pressure cook the Rice for 1 Whistle.
Allow it to cool, and add all Dry Fruits now.
Delicious sweet Rice is ready to serve now.
