Sabudana Crushed Aloo Tikki – Tasty Bite
Ingredients
- FOR POTATO LAYER :
- Boiled potatoes/ aloo - 4
- Salt to taste
- Cumin/ jeera powder - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper/ kali mirch powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chili/ mirch powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric/ haldi powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Lemon juice/ neembu ras - 1 tablespoon
- Chopped coriander/ dhaniya - a hand full
- FOR COCONUT STUFFING :
- Grated fresh coconut/ nariyal - 2 tablespoon
- Mint/ pudina chutney (thick) - 1/2 teaspoon
- Tamarind/ imly chutney (thick) - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- FOR SAGO (SABUDANA) LAYER :
- Soaked sago seeds/ sabudana - 1 cup
- Roasted coriander seeds/ bhuna hua khada dhaniya - 1 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Chili/ lal mirch powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Instructions
- In a bowl, add boiled and grated potatoes, salt, pepper powder, turmeric, cumin powder, chili powder, lemon juice, fresh coriander and mix well.
- In another bowl, add soaked sago, coriander seeds, salt, chili powder and mix well.
- In another bowl, add grated coconut, mint chutney and tamarind chutney and mix well.
- Grease the baking tray with butter, place a round mould on it and set the potato mixture in the mould, leaving a little space in middle. Fill the space with the coconut mixture, cover it with more potato mixture.
- Add sago mixture on top of it and brush it with little olive oil.
- Bake it in preheated oven for 8 - 10 mins at 200° C.
- Serve with mint and tamarind chutney and garnish with coconut or cherry tomatoes if available.
- Delicious 'Sabudana Crushed Aloo Tikki' are ready.
