Chiwda is an all time favourite snack for us that reminds us of our childhood days. My mother used to make roasted chiwda for all at home to be served in evening tea time snacks.

Ingredients

  • Chiwda : 3 cups
  • Peanuts/ moongfali : 1 bowl
  • Dessicated coconut/ nariyal : 1 cup
  • Turmeric/ haldi powder : 1 teaspoon
  • Salt : 1/2 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar : 2 teaspoons
  • Curry leaves/ meetha neem : 10-12
  • Chopped green chili/ hari mirch : 1 tablespoon
  • Oil/ tel : 3-4 tablespoons
  • Raisins/ kishmish : 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Dry roast the chiwda in a pan for about 5-7 minutes, till it turns crispy. Take it out in a bowl.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and roast the peanuts till it becomes brown in color. Take them out in a bowl.
  3. Add some oil in a pan, chopped green chilies and curry leaves. Saute it on medium flame.
  4. Add turmeric powder, raisins and saute for a while. Add the roasted chiwda, roasted peanuts, desiccated coconut, salt and sugar to this mixture. Keep the flame low and mix thoroughly.
  5. Crispy "Roasted Chiwda" is ready to be served!
