Paneer Popcorns – Crunchy Snacks!!
Ingredients
- Paneer / cottage cheese – 250 - 300 gms (cut into small – medium size cubes)
- Ginger garlic paste – 1 teaspoon
- Mustard oil – 1 1/2 tablespoon
- Red chili powder – 1/2 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper powder – 1/2 tseapoon
- Kasuri methi – 1 teapsoon
- Asafoetida/ hing – 2 pinch
- Black salt – 1/8 teaspoon
- Lemon – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – as per taste
- Maida / all purpose flour – 3/4 cup
- Bread crumbs – 1 cup
- Water as needed for making batter
- Oil as required – for deep frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl take mustard oil. Add ginger garlic paste, red chili, turmeric, black pepper powder, black salt, white salt, kasuri methi, lemon juice and asafoetida. Mix well.
- Add paneer cubes to this mixture. Coat them well.
- In another bowl take maida. Add pinch of red chili powder and salt.
- Add some water and make thick batter.
- Dip paneer cubes into the batter and coat well with bread crumbs by using another hand.
- Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying and deep fry them until golden brown.
- Yummy "Paneer Popcorns" are ready now. Serve with tomato sauce and green chutney.
