Nankhatai is a yummy biscuit loved by all.

Nankhatai is a 16th-century old Persian snack which is very tasty. It tastes amazing with a cup of tea. We can make it very easily at home and can serve hot instantly :)…Its egg-less, crispy and I have used wheat flour which makes it healthy. It is super easy to make and delicious to eat. So, try this recipe at home and enjoy this Diwali with your loved ones.

Tips and suggestions by Mom Chef:-

  • Do not knead the dough, just mix with hands. You can use multigrain flour or whole wheat flour or all purpose flour as per your taste.
  • Store it in an airtight container.
  • You can do the variation by adding dry fruit or cardamom.

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour/Multigrain flour - 1.5 cup
  • Ghee/Clarified butter - 1/2 cup
  • Powdered sugar - 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Add sugar and ghee to the bowl. Whisk it till it becomes creamy and fluffy.
  2. Add wheat flour and mix it gently. Do not knead it.
  3. Make medium sized balls from the dough.
  4. Roll them evenly in your palms, slightly flattened them. Place the nankhatais in a baking tray. Keep some place between them as they expand while baking.
  5. Bake the nankhatai in preheated ovenat 180 degree Celcius for 20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool them and your whole wheat flour 'Nankhatai' is ready. Store them in air tight container.
