Ingredients

  • Rice flour - 1/2 kg
  • Roasted bengal gram / chutney dal - 2 cups
  • Sesame seeds - 1 cup
  • Salt as required
  • Chilli powder - 3 tbsps
  • Warm oil - 2 tbsps
  • Water to make it medium consistency dough ( Little warm)

Instructions

  1. Grind the chutney dal / roasted bengal gram into a fine powder.
  2. To this, add all the other ingredients except oil and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add oil and mix.
  4. Add water little by little and make it a soft dough, the dough should be much softer than atta dough that we make for rotis.
  5. Make the dough into round balls and add it to murukku maker.
  6. Heat the oil in kadai, once it is hot, press the murukku maker in circular motion so that the dough falls into hot oil.
  7. Deep fry the murukku till it turns into golden color. Andhra special Murukku is ready.
