Ingredients

  • Moong dal/ gram lentils - 1 cup
  • Ghee - 2/3 cup
  • Sugar/ cheeni - 2/3 cup
  • Water/ pani - 2/3 cup
  • Chopped dryfruits - 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak moong dal for 4 hours.
  2. Drain out the water and grind it in a mixer.
  3. Heat ghee in a pan on medium flame and add ground moong dal.
  4. Saute till it turns to golden brown in colour.
  5. Add sugar and water in a pan and make 1 and 1/2 string (taar) sugar syrup.
  6. Add moong dal to the syrup and mix well.
  7. Take the mixture in a greased plate and let the barfi get settle down. Cut barfi pieces into desired shapes.
  8. Delicious and healthy 'Moong Dal Barfi' is ready to be served. Garnish the dish with chopped dry nuts.
