This festival season ,I have come up with a snack recipe specially for kids.They are differently shaped “Smiley Mathris” Prepare these mathris for them at home, I’m sure it will be an attraction for them and they will love it.

Ingredients

  • Whole Wheat Aata : 2 cups
  • Maida : 1 cup
  • Salt: According to taste
  • Ajwain : 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ghee : 3/4 cup
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Water for making the dough

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a big bowl ,use warm water along with it to make a firm tight dough.
  2. Cover the dough with a slightly wet muslin cloth and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Make circular balls of the dough and roll it and flatten into a circular shapes.
  4. Now with smiley mould cutter, cut the flattened dough( Mathri) into various shapes (heart, triangle, square etc.)
  5. Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Fry the mathris on medium flame till they become golden brown from both sides. Once done take into a serving plate.
  6. The smiley mathris are ready to be served for your kids and their friends on festivities. Let them enjoy eating the mathris with sauce, Jam or milk.
