Gaune and Gaunamathri – Gangaur Special!
Ingredients
- Refined flour/ Maida - 400 gms
- Ghee - for frying - 250 gms and for making dough - 3 tablespoons
- Sugar for syrup - 2 bowls
- Saffron strands - 10
- Cardamom powder - 1 tablespoon
- Water for making sugar syrup - 1 glass and for making dough - as required
Instructions
- Add refined flour, cardamom powder and ghee and make a smooth dough by adding little water.
- Make a chapati from roller and cut it in rectangular and thin pieces (stripes) with the help of knife as we do for making namkeen/ snacks.
- Take a stripe in your finger and roll it out in 3 circular rounds to make designs
in it.
- Heat ghee in a kadhai and fry these rolls till they become golden brown.
- Transfer them to a serving plate.
- Meanwhile heat 2 bowls of sugar mixed with 1 glass water in a pan and saffron strands and make sugar syrup (chaasni of 2 wires). It will take 10 minutes.
- Put these fried rolls in syrup and take out in tissue paper.
- Delicious and festive season special - Gaune and Gaunamathri is ready to be served.
