Ingredients

  • Chana daal - 100 grams
  • Urad dal - 25 grams
  • Chopped onions - 4
  • Chopped tomatoes - 2
  • Chopped green chillies - 2
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Oil - 4 teaspoons
  • Bay leaves - 2
  • Jeera - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon stick - 2
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Cook chana daal and ural daal together with turmeric powder, bay leaves, cinnamon stick and salt up to 3 whistles in a pressure cooker.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add jeera and let it crackle. Add onions and fry until it becomes soft and pink. Add turmeric powder, chili powder.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, little salt and fry for 3 minutes.
  4. To this tadka add the cooked daal, sugar and again cook it until it becomes thick or your desired consistency . Finally add garam masala powder and mix well.
  5. Garnish fresh coriander leaves and serve dhaba Style daal Tarka hot.
