Ingredients

  • Boiled Potatoes/ Aloo - 4 pieces
  • Chopped Onions/ Pyaz - 1 bowl
  • Green chilies/ hari mirch(chopped) - 1 tablespoon
  • Ginger/ adarak(chopped) - small piece
  • Fresh Curd/ dahi - 1 bowl
  • Coriander leaves/ dhaniya patta(chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Besan/ chickpea flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Dry whole red chili/ khadi lal mirch - 2 pieces
  • Salt/ namak - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili/ Lal mirch powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander/ dhaniya powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric/ haldi powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Kasuri methi/ fenugreek - 1 teaspoon
  • Asafoetida/ heeng - a pinch
  • Cumin seeds/ jeera - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil/ tel - 2 tablespoons
  • Water/ pani - 1 bowl

Instructions

  1. Cut boiled aloo in small pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pan on medium flame. Add hing, cumin seeds and whole red chili.
  3. Add chopped onions, green chili, ginger and saute it for 5 minutes. Now add besan to it and saute it for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add all the spices mentioned above and fresh curd in a pan. Mix it and add water in it.
  5. Now mix potatoes in it and add salt. Cover it with a lid. Let it cook for 8-10 minutes on slow flame.
  6. Easy and quick dahi vale aloo is ready now. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot with chapati/ jeera rice.
