Ingredients

  • Maida/ all purpose flour - 1 cup
  • Sugar/ cheeni powder - 2/3 cup
  • Vanilla essence - 1 teaspoon
  • Milk/ doodh - 1/2 cup
  • Baking powder - 1/2 tablespoon
  • Baking soda - 1/4 tablespoon
  • Butter/ makkhan - 2/3 cup
  • Cocoa powder - 3 tablespoons
  • For Collar - Melted chocolate - 1 cup
  • Butter cream - 1/2 cup
  • Butter paper as required

Instructions

  1. Beat butter and sugar together.
  2. Sift maida, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder in a separate bowl.
  3. Mix milk in butter mixture and beat it. Add maida mixture and vanilla essence. Mix gently.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  5. Bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C. for 25-30 minutes.
  6. Insert a toothpick into the center of the cake, if it comes out clean then the cake is ready or else bake it for 1-2 more minutes. When cake gets completely cool, spread some butter cream all over the cake.
  7. Cut butter paper of cake size and spread melted chocolate over it. Wait for a minute and make some designs using a fork. Now, wait for 30 seconds. Take the butter paper and stick on the cake and press the paper slightly.
  8. After 5 minutes, remove the butter paper and decorate the cake with butter cream.
  9. Yummy chocolate collar cake is ready to be served!
