Chhena/ Paneer Jalebi

Ingredients

Chhena/ homemade paneer (grated) - 1/2 cup
Milk powder - 3/4 cup
Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Sugar/ cheeni - 1 cup
Cardamoms/ elaichi - 2
Oil/ ghee for deep frying
Dry fruits chopped for garnishing - 1 teaspoon
Cornflour/ makai ka atta - 1 or 2 teaspoons

Instructions

Mix milk powder, baking powder, paneer and cornflour and knead a dough which should be smooth. The paneer should be totally dry.
Meanwhile, prepare the sugar syrup with 1 cup sugar and an equal amount of water.
Divide the dough into small balls.
With help of fingers roll out the balls into thin cylinders.
Shape the cylinders into the shape of Jalebi. Keep aside.
Heat oil in a kadhai. And deep fry the jalebis on medium heat. Once done keep aside.
SYRUP - When sugar has dissolved, add cardamom. When it starts boiling, switch off the gas and let it cool a bit. Add the jalebis and cook for 5 minutes. Keep covered for an hour so that they soak the syrup.
Garnish with chopped dry fruits of your choice.
Delicious and mouth watering 'Chhena/ Paneer Jalebi' is ready to be served!
