Chatpati Aloo Chaat – Delicious Street Food!

Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 6
  • Oil for deep frying
  • FOR SAUCE/CHUTNEY
  • Water - 2 cups
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • Red chilli powder -1 tablespoon
  • Salt as per taste
  • Dry ginger powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Amchur & Coriander Powder- 1 tablespoon
  • Black salt - 1/2 tablespoon
  • Chaat masala - To sprinkle

Instructions

  1. Deep fry potatoes until they are completely cooked from inside and out.
  2. Press out the excess oil with the help of a kitchen towel.
  3. Again place them in hot oil and fry until they get crisp.
  4. For the sauce, take water in a saucepan.
  5. Add sugar and stir until it gets dissolved.
  6. Add coriander powder, dry ginger powder, red chilli powder, black salt, salt and amchur powder.
  7. Stir continuesly to avoid lumps and keep stirring for close to 5 minutes until it thickens.
  8. Put potatoes in a bowl and add a generous amount of chutney.
  9. Mix well and sprinkle with chaat masala.
  10. Your Chatpati Aloo Chaat is ready!
