Ingredients

  • Chana dal/ chickpeas gram - 250 gms
  • Baking soda - 1 pinch
  • Enough oil/ tel for frying
  • Red chilli/ lal mirch powder, black salt/ kala namak, dry mango/ amchur powder, chat masala and salt/ namak according to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash chana dal properly and soak it for 7-8 hours in sufficient water. Add baking soda in water.
  2. Drain water and spread the dal on kitchen towel for soaking extra water.
  3. Heat oil in a pan on high flame and add 3-4 tablespoons dal.
  4. When oil stops bubbling and dal is crispy, take out dal from oil. Repeat this process until dal is finished.
  5. Add all spices in dal now. Mix well.
  6. Spicy and crunchy 'Chana Dal Namkeen' is ready to be served.
