Cabbage Kofta : A Delicious Rich Curry
Ingredients
- FOR KOFTA
- Grated cabbage : 2 cups
- Gram flour : 1 cup
- Chopped coriander leaves : 2 tablespoon
- Chopped ginger and green chili mix : 1 tablespoon
- Salt : 1/2 teaspoon
- Spices : Coriander powder - 1 tablespoon, red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon, cumin powder -1/2 teaspoon, fennel seeds powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- FOR GRAVY:
- Oil : 2 tablespoon
- Fresh curd : 1 cup
- For tempering : Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoon, asafoetida/Hing - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt : 1/2 teaspoon
- Spices : Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon, coriander powder - 1 tablespoon, turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon, garam masala powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- Chopped ginger and green chilli mix : 1 tablespoon
- Kasuri methi/Dry fenugreek leaves - 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- In a bowl add all the ingredients needed for kofta and make round balls. Add some water if required.
- Cook it/bake it in an air fryer/an oven or using a non stick appam pan. Cook till the koftas become brown in color.
- FOR GRAVY :
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds, asafoetida, mix of chopped green chilli and ginger, kasuri methi, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder and saute it well .
- Beat the fresh curd and add it to the above mix to make the gravy.
- Keep it on medium flame and keep stirring and cooking it till the oil leaves the sides of the pan.
- Add water ( 1 cup) to it , also add salt and stir well. Switch off the flame once the gravy boils well.
- Dip the koftas in the gravy.
- Sprinkle some garam masala powder on top and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Rich and delicious cabbage kofta is ready to be served.
